Sia- Cheap Thrills
- We actually don't see the singer through out the music video instead see an iconic feature of sia (black and white hair / wig)
- The song intros through the view of an old fashioned tv
- The music video is meant to show resemblance to shows like American Bandstand and The Buddy Deane Show.
- Black and white setting
- 4:20 secs long
- slow dancing that doesn't suit song in beginning
- One of the messages from the music video is to be yourself and break the stereotype
- Many iconic dance moves are used especially from Michael Jackson
- Constantly see from the view of a camera
- faceless could suggest no identity

Katy Perry:Roar
- transition from animated or comic book like viewing. into regular time.
- Close up on Katy as she begins to sing
- torn and worn out clothes
- a cutting time of 3-4 seconds
- the video is 4:30s long which is longer then usual music videos
- Camera angles: close ups, long shot, worms eye view, wide shot, mid shot,
- when at chorus cuting time is more longer highest point is 14 seconds
- at the half way mark she is has now changed into more promiscuous clothing
- use of greenscreen to get jungle background and cgi for animals
- fade to black and to white to change locations
- at end of video we transition back into a comic book like style
- Male gaze but also has women in a more independent light

- build up to chorus the cutting rate increases
- usually has a cutting rate of 3-4 seconds
- many transitions which follow the beat
- towards end spotlight is on bruno mar
- male gaze
- 1970's setting we can tell from there clothing location
- ends the same way it starts by zoom in on Mark Ronson with flashing effects
